ABOUT US

Our mission is to create relevant and entertaining content while providing a space in the industry for diverse voices and talent.

We are a Female-led independent Film and TV production company committed to discovering, developing, and financing original content that is empowering, relevant and thought provoking.

Not only are we addressing the current shortfall in female and diverse representation, but we are also addressing the need for – and pioneering – better stewardship of investor funds that underpin and advance the film craft.

We believe in doing the right thing – integrity and transparency in how we direct and conduct our business is of utmost importance

Grounded in our corporate backgrounds, we understand the delicate balance between artistry and financial merit – bringing a uniquely balanced perspective to the art (and business) of film-making

We ourselves are diverse and globally minded, and believe in unlocking value from both mainstream and untapped markets that are brimming with potential
We are in this for the long haul – we are looking to foster meaningful, long-term relationships that beneficially serve both our investors as well as our creative partners

What you get when you work with a female driven company

Studies show that women in the workplace are held to higher standards.
Well, challenge accepted.

Like most other female-centric companies, what you see is what you get. No one has time for smoke and mirrors, misrepresentations or empty promises. Let’s talk strategy and creativity – and let’s find a way to make it happen together. There is no place for ego here – only empowerment.

For us, authenticity and inclusion are key. So, you can expect collaboration and communication. This means team brainstorming, continual transparency and unyielding integrity. Our reputation and high work ethic matter to us. This is why choosing the right path over the easy path is our credo.

Although this industry might be a tough one, we aren’t pushovers – our backgrounds have taught us that patience, persistence and perseverance are key to getting the job done.

That said, we are seeking partners who share our values, who support female talent and voices, and who believe in the power of storytelling to challenge mindsets, shape new perspectives and foster connectivity.

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH

ALEX MERKIN, DIRECTOR

 @alex_merkin

Named a “talent to watch” by Daily Variety, Alex Merkin’s film career began when Oscar nominated producers Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman (Mandeville Films) discovered his work and called him out to Hollywood. His directorial debut, Across the Hall was dubbed “a riveting trip into betrayal and revenge” by Daily Variety and called “truly one of the finest suspense-fests we’ve seen in many a year” by Gorezone Magazine.

Across the Hall was awarded “Best Thriller of 2010” at GZ’s prestigious award ceremonies in London, England. The stylish neo-noir suspense film, which Merkin also edited, stars Brittany Murphy, Mike Vogel (Under the Dome, The Help, Cloverfield) and Danny Pino (Braindead, Scandal, Law & Order: SVU). It was released theatrically in December of 2009. Merkin first introduced viewers to Across The Hall in 2006 as a short film starring Adrian Grenier (Entourage), produced by Jon Kilik (Babel) and First Look Studios. The short rapidly earned critical acclaim and went on to win over 20 awards at film festivals across the world as well as become one of the first short films to receive wide distribution.

Merkin worked closely with Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Studios, directing the first two films of the Miami based production company which star Academy Award nominees Terrence Howard, Peter Fonda, Queen Latifah as well as Ving Rhames, Antoni Corone, Macy Gray and Robert Wisdom among others. Merkin has since directed 5 feature films, including the Lionsgate action thriller Altitude, which hit theaters in April of 2017, the horror film House of the Witch, released in October of 2017 and the suspense thriller No Escape Room released last year. He is currently in pre-production on his next feature film, Tow, which begins production in September with Mar Vista Entertainment and Warner Brothers.

In addition to his work in film, Merkin has directed and edited television series, commercials, music videos and other projects for key industry players including HBO/Cinemax, First Look Studios, Samsung, PUMA, Sony, Visa, Wayfair, Lifetime, Syfy Channel, Atlantic Records, Apartment Therapy, FRANK151, Toyota, Vacantlot/Bloodline, Epic Records, Bad Boy, Ruff Ryder Records and Harlem World. He is a Manhattan native who attended film school at Boston University’s College of Communication.
